Topsports.Exchange is a peer-to-peer betting exchange: crypto betting on steroids. Unlike a sportsbook, the platform never takes a position: market makers propose odds and liquidity, bettors choose the most favorable price, and the blockchain settles trustlessly. I designed the MVP in November 2023.
The model
A betting exchange is a fundamentally different product from a sportsbook. The platform's job is matchmaking: it facilitates proposing, updating, and closing markets, and takes a commission rather than betting against its users. Decentralization makes that credible; the odds are the market's, not the house's.
The vision: make it effortless for bettors to access the best odds for any game, and position the product as the bridge carrying traditional web2 bettors into web3.
The design problem
Two audiences, one interface. Market makers need dense tooling for proposing odds and managing liquidity and exposure. Bettors need something as simple as a betslip, with the best available price surfaced automatically. The MVP had to serve both without letting either experience leak complexity into the other.
